Speaking from the voice of experience, delays in house training your puppy not within your control can be stressful for both the owner and the animal. You get tired of cleaning up messes and the dog looks and probably feels out of sorts.
Frequent Urination
When your puppy pees every half hour, there will be delays in house training your puppy. Accidents are inevitable and every one of them is a set back. Get a urine sample to the vet for analysis. If it is a UTI, then it'll take a few days for the schedule to return to normal.
Loose Stools
Usually caused by a change in diet, a parasite, or an infection, this causes puppy house training schedule disruptions. More frequent bowel movements are likely to cause accidents. Sometimes the pup just can't help himself. Again, a trip to the vet is recommended to ensure a serious problem is diagnosed properly.
Sometimes you can cause delays in house training your puppy by transitioning to a new food too quickly. It can cause loose stools and force a return to previous amounts of the old food.
Frequent Vomiting
Puppies occasionally vomit because they eat too fast or get car sick. This situation is unlikely to impact house training your puppy. When the pup vomits several times in a short time frame, it's time to call the vet.
This recently happened to one of my pups. Twelve hours after he vomited 7 or 8 times in a 2-hour period, he was in the vet's office getting a shot to stop the vomiting, an antibiotic, and water intravenously. It took 3 - 4 days before he was eating and drinking normally. At 8 months, he did not have any accidents, but you might not be as lucky with a younger puppy. We could only speculate what happened to cause the vomiting.
This information should help you anticipate possible delays in house training your puppy. Be sure to consult a vet if you notice any of the symptoms described above.
