House Training Your Puppy Or Dog - A Few Tips

If it is dog training that you are looking for, you should have no trouble finding it, there are so many courses that you can use on-line. And courses elsewhere too! If you don't like the Internet you can also get information from books in places such as the library. Information that you get will be on the most popular topics such as how to train your dog to have good behavior and other elements such as dog obedience. Here are some things that you may want to think about concerning your dog.

Your dog and housebreaking

Some people feel like if they humiliate their dog that will make the dog behave properly. This is a myth people doing so would just aggravate your relationship with your dog, this is a bad way to housebreak your dog. Basically it is just just humiliating your dog. Your dog will probably become scared and this will make the problem worse. When attempting to housebreak your dog you will need to set up a place, that the dog will be sent to during times of discipline. Once the dog becomes familiar with that place they will go there on their own accord, without you having to prompt them.

Giving your dog a reward

Once you have a certain area for the dog to go when they need to. It is not a bad idea to reward that dog with a treat every time they use the place designated for them. To further cement that area in the dog's mind, you should associate a keyword with the housebreaking area. So each time you take the dog there, you should say that word, your dog will then begin to associate that word with the housebreaking designated area. Remember when training your dog to do anything it will take some time, there is no magic to teaching your dog, eventually they will understand.

Now, if you really want to housebreak your dog properly, there are a number of different courses online that will help you with this. A lot of them come with nicely illustrated videos and pictures for you to follow along. Once again remember training will require patience at all times.
