Hot flashes and menopause are almost always thought of synonymously when the topic of menopause is discussed. At least fifty percent of all women develop these symptoms when they hit the threshold of this major life change. Even though there are many more symptoms that are actually serious in terms of physical problems, hot flashes are probably the most uncomfortable and  irritating. A sudden feeling of intense heat that seems to i from the body core causes a sudden dowse of perspiration to follow. These episodes seem to be especially worse at night although certainly happen during the day. Women who experience these disturbing episodes want to find a way to lessen if not get rid of this particular side effect of menopause since hot flashes can last up to 5 years or more.

If you or someone you know are experiencing this symptom, here are several tips that can help you lessen or altogether get rid of hot flashes:

1. Take a daily dose of Vitamin E. Studies have shown that Vitamin helps to lessen this uncomfortable symptom of menopause in women who daily take this nutrient. An additional benefit of Vitamin E is that it helps to lessen fibrocystic lumps in the breasts.

2. Add natural progesterone cream to your daily regimen. Progesterone has been found to relieve hot flashes as well as other irritating symptoms. It can be purchased over the counter or online. Be sure to find a cream that is all natural and contains the highest quality of this natural hormone.

3. Exercise every day. Yes, it is necessary to exercise every day in order to alleviate those awful sweats. Even though you will perspire during your exercise routine, the physical activity helps to normalize the body and relieve it of stress. Just don't exercise closer than 3 hours to bedtime.

4. Remove certain dietary causes from your daily menu. Caffeine, spicy foods, cayenne pepper and alcohol are known to stimulate the body to produce worse hot flash symptoms.

5. Take a daily dose of black cohosh. This herb is widely credited with lessening hot flashes and is taken by women all over the world. Go to any health food store to purchase the best quality of this herb. It takes 2 to 3 weeks to see effects from this natural substance, so be patient while it slowly assimilates through your body system.

6. Wear all natural cotton as much as possible. During warm weather, the dreaded hot flashes seem to be worse for most women. In order to keep moisture away from the body so that you can stay cool and dry, wear 100% cotton clothing and especially at night when the symptoms are generally worse.

These are just a few of the natural methods that many women use to alleviate menopause symptoms but there are others such as certain antidepressants and medications as well as hormone  replacement therapy(HRT). While many women choose these synthetic methods to achieve relief, some women prefer to try a more natural approach to calming hot flashes that will add no more side effects to their already changing bodies.
