Home Organization Tips - Where on Earth Do You Start? The Answer is Easier Than You Think!

If you're looking for great home organization tips, you may want an answer to this question: where on earth do I start? That is a good question. When thinking about organizing a home, it can be overwhelming. Especially if your time is limited and the task is great.

The best place to start is in the room that makes you cringe every time you enter it. Hopefully, it isn't every room!   For most people, especially women, there is one place in your home that can bring joy and satisfaction when it is clean, and emotional distress when it is not.

For me, it is my kitchen. I have 2 children under age 3, and it is nearly impossible to keep my kitchen clean and free of clutter. When I walk in that kitchen and see cluttered counters, dishes in the sink or crumbs on the floor just an hour after I have cleaned it, I want to cry. On occasion, I have. On the other hand, when I walk in and see clean counters and an empty sink, I feel a sense of contentment. It's amazing how that one room can alter my mood.

For some people, it may be the living room, especially if your kids don't have a separate playroom and don't like to play in their rooms. You may constantly be tripping over toys and have crumbs or juice stains on the carpet. Try these home organization tips. Have baskets with lids or a storage ottoman to quickly put toys away. Your décor can easily look good and be functional.  Have a no food or juice rule for the living or use no spill cups and snack containers.

For some men especially, it may be the garage. This may be particularly true if the garage opening faces the road. You may not even want to leave the door up because you don't want passersby to see the clutter inside.

Whatever room it is that brings you the most stress, tackle it first. You will have a feeling of contentment and the motivation to move on to the rest of the house.
