Home filtration of tap water is now a necessary in today's current environment and I'm going to give you 5 good reasons why. So read carefully the 5 reasons and decide for yourself if home filtration of tap water is something you want to consider.

Reason #1 - It has been proven that bottled water is no better for you than ordinary tap water. In fact because bottled water goes largely unregulated it could be worse from a health stand point. It may fool you because it does taste better because the chlorine is removed from the water. That does not mean other pollutants are. Shrewd marketers know this however, and you may pay the price with your health.

Reason #2 - Our Tap Water Is Contaminated - There has been a big increase in degenerative disease due to the contamination of our water supply. The reasons vary from runoffs in the agricultural industry to the misuse of chemicals in the home. We now use more than 80,000 different chemicals to make our lives more convenient. According to a study from the Ralph Nader Study Group trace amounts of more than 2,100 toxic chemicals show up in nearly every public water system in the world.

Reason #3 - SOCs (synthetic organic chemicals) are not removed by city water treatment plants. They only use sand bed filtration and disinfection similar to what is used by a swimming pool. Water treatment plants have not changed much over the last 100 years. They merely filter out particles and then add chlorine as a disinfectant.

Reason #4 - The U.S. Council on Environmental Quality has confirmed that there was no known cause for many illnesses in past years a link has now been established to the toxins in our drinking water. While the SOCs in tap water are low, it's exactly the reason cancer experts believe it to be responsible for the majority of cancer in the United States. Long term exposure to low level chemicals is a recipe for disaster.

Reason #5 - Children are highly susceptible to the effects of the highly toxic chemicals in tap water. Because their systems are still developing they are more sensitive to the chemicals. In a report of cities that testing their water supplies over 29 cities reported 45,000 infants drank water containing weed killers. More than half of the babies were drinking 4 to 9 chemicals in each bottle. This is reason enough to consider home filtration of tap water.

Bonus Tip- How To Get Home Filtration Of Tap Water Without Spending Any More Money - With the cost of bottled water anywhere from $1 to $1.50 per bottle for the supposed good stuff it's very easy to spend $2 to $3 a day per person in your family. If you are single that works out to $60 to $90 per month for bottled water. A family could easily spend upwards of $200 per month. That's way more than a very good water filter will cost you after a couple months of use. Simply switch from bottled water to a quality home filtration of tap water system (water filter) and you will not only save money, but also your health.
