Hockey - How to Master Your Energy
Print This Article Ezine Publisher Send To Friends Add To Favorites Post A Comment Suggest Topic Report Author

Hockey players have a hard to time to either recover fast from being tired or they tend to lose precious levels of energy and not know why it happens. Once you know about how to control these problems then you'll be able to take full control of your energy to the level that you want in hockey.

Try this little experiment:

1 - I would like you to run for 100 yards fast and then assess how much energy you have after you've finished that run. Usually after this experiment athletes and hockey players will tell me they are tired because they've exerted a lot of energy in a short period of time.

2 - After resting, I would like you to run the same 100 yards but this time just breathe into your lower stomach area. Instead of focusing on expanding and breathing at your chest level, you just have push the air that your breathe in a downward direction.

3 - This breathing is focused approx. 2 inches below your belly button area.

4 - After running the 100 yards on the second time by focusing the breathing into your lower stomach area, athletes and hockey players have told me they felt a little tired but they felt more energized, powerful and balanced during their run.

Note: The physical power isn't located in your chest area but rather is located in the lower stomach area. Let me explain how this works. When you lift something that is heavy you tend to grunt from your stomach area and this enables you to lift that heavy weight more easily. If you just breathe in your chest area, then it will be harder to lift the same heavy weight.

There is more information on the subject of breathing that relates to the improper way of breathing patterns that have bee developed in negative ways around the teenager age. If you would like to know more about how all these changes affects the overall energy levels of hockey players then contact us and we will guide you with the proper information.
