History of Rock and Roll - An Example of Self Innovation

We all love rock and roll. It is a genre that has not dies since its inception in the early 1950s. This is a form of music that is loved by the youth especially. Youngsters are able to connect to the various forms of rebellion, and the changing times that are often the main themes of this form of music. It speaks to them in a way no other form of music can.

The History of Rock and Roll can be traced back to the early 1950s. Post World War 2, America was undergoing a major change in its lifestyle. The soldiers from the war had returned home, and there were a lot of changes being introduced in the society. Due to this, people in various alleyways and in discos started mixing various traditional forms of music - like the blues, gospel music, country and classic western. The result was a thumping, exciting sound that was loved by everyone.

This was followed by the Golden era and the British Invasion. Rock and roll spread like wild fire to all parts of the world, and people were able to connect with it like nothing else could. Some musicians added their own personal flavour, and changed the world of music for ever. The genre also spread out to Europe, and the era saw the rise of several English artists like Cliff Richards. This was also the age of the Beatles, Elvis Presley and so on.

Following this, rock divulged into various forms. The most prominent were heavy metal or hard rock, soft rock or soul music, and garage or punk rock. They all varied in the level of rebelliousness, and the lyrics that ranged from soulful sweetness, to full of passionate anger and hate towards all kinds of traditions and norms. Today, we know digitally enhanced rock and roll in the forms of nu metal, trance and alternate rock. It has evolved through the changing times, with the latest technology being imbibed every time.
