High School Baseball Recruiting - What All Student Athletes Need to Know

In the world of high school baseball recruiting, there are many myths and misconceptions. Sadly, many of these myths and misconceptions keep young baseball players who could have played at some level of college baseball out of the college game.

If you have been involved in high school baseball recruiting, you have probably heard some of these myths:

1- If you are good enough, college coaches will automatically find you
2- Your coach will help you get recruited
3- If you play on a bad team coaches won't recruit you
4- If you play at a small high school, coaches won't recruit you

The good news is that none of these myths are true. They are simply high school recruiting myths that are passed down from one generation of players to the next. If you are trying to make it to the next level, don't let these myths stand in your way and learn these truths:

1- Many players who could play at the college level don't get recruited because coaches simply don't know

anything about them
2- Most coaches don't help their players get recruited because they are either not sure how to help, or they

simply just don't want to get involved
3- You can still be an excellent player, even if you are on a bad team.
4- Being at a small school doesn't mean you don't have what it takes to play in college

The best way to win the high school baseball recruiting game is to take responsibility for your own recruitment. You can do that by making direct contact with coaches. Develop an athletic resume and write a letter to coaches, and your recruitment can get started right away. Of course, to play in college you need to have the talent and skills. However, keep in mind that baseball is played from Junior College all the way up to Division I.

Don't be a victim to the high school baseball recruiting myths. Start making contact with coaches as soon as you can and the results may surprise you!
