So...your best friend has just been dumped by her one and only love, after his dishonesty and deceitful antics came out, he decided what he wanted...and unfortunately it wasn't her. Now your best friend duties come into place and you must be there for her, every step of the way. Getting over a bad break up can be a timely and upsetting process but can be driven along by a best friend.
Your duties as best friend in this scenario are;
• Be a shoulder to cry on
• Provide comfort and reassurance
• Encourage new changes
• Plan nights out and things to do
• Take your 'bff's' mind off 'him'
• Do not...I repeat...Do not let her get in contact with him
After going through these steps for a month or so, it's time to push it that one step further. Get all the girlies together and plan an amazing week away so that once and for all, your best mate knows she is not alone, is supported by her loved ones and can have fun on her own without needing 'him'!
The difficult part is convincing her that this is what she needs, she won't want to leave her comfort zone, she's feeling down and does not want to be made to feel better and generally can't be bothered with the hassle of going away...only a best friend can change her mind, it's up to you!
After overcoming these hurdles, it's time to get searching with your friends and find that ideal holiday. You'll need something with great beaches, a vibrant nightlife, a warm charm and fantastic weather! Narrowing it down to maybe Greece and Cyprus, I think Paphos in Cyprus may just well do the trick. Paphos is beautiful, offers year round sunshine and has a wide variety of restaurants, bars and night clubs. The bar street in Paphos offers cocktail bars, karaoke bars and a fun loving, drink flowing bar called 'Bubbles'. The last thing she needs is to be completely overwhelmed by boisterous lager louts which you definitely will not find here. If you do prefer something slightly busier, there are plenty of nightclubs open until 6am which host there weekly, infamous foam parties.
There are many tasteful, beautiful restaurants in Paphos whether it be along the harbour overlooking the promenade, or along the 'tomb of the kings' road where you'll find more commercialised restaurants such as McDonalds, Pizza hut and an array of oriental restaurants. If you're running a little short of money, book a self catering accommodation, then you can stock up at the local supermarket on arrival and cook your meals together before you head out for a night in the town, that way saving money for the alcohol!
After an amazing (and alcohol fuelled) night out, the morning after may prove too much for your friend to handle. Cheer her up with a trip to Coral Bay, here you'll find a beautiful sandy bay with sunbeds aplenty and watersports for all. The sun can feel overwhelming but will sweat that hang over out of you in no time! Having a glowing sun tan makes us all feel brighter and after 7 nights of this, your friend should feel rejuvenated and will go home with a big smile on her face.
Helping your friend in her hour of need is an admirable thing to do, one day you may need the favor returned and you may find yourselves on the hunt for more great holiday deals. Depending on the situation, next time push the boundaries and book a week in Ayai Napa!
