This is caused primarily of fad diet authors who claim that carbohydrates are sources of obesity problems. First, you should be able to choose healthy fats over those unhealthy, saturated fats. Some of the healthy fats include plant fats, which are not hydrogenated. Plant fats that are not hydrogenated allow the fat to become more solid at a room temperature. Some of the plant fats include avocados, olives, and nuts. In addition, canola oil, peanut oil, and olive oil are much better choices than oils found in animal sources including lard, bacon grease, and butter.

Vegetables and fruits are allowed back in such diet in limited amounts as you progress. It has been found that phytonutrients from a diet that is rich in vegetables and fruits decrease blood pressure and protect one against heart diseases, metabolic syndrome, obesity, diabetes, and cancer. If you are not used to eating vegetables and fruits, you may start by adding some berries to your breakfast, eating tomatoes at lunch, and including broccoli at dinner. During snack time, you may start drinking some vegetable juice or eat a large salad instead of picking on junk foods or carbonated drinks.
The final tip is to ensure your diet includes whole food rather than convenience foods. It is best to start eliminating snacking specifically during night time where "easy" food items are usually present. These include crackers, chips, and other high-refined carbohydrate food including ice cream.
