The use of Hazardous drugs in the manufacture of essential medicines is increasing day by day. Also the perilous effects of these drugs on mankind are increasing. The healthcare organizations are very much worried about the disastrous effects of these drugs on the lives of the professionals dealing with them. They have been in consistent search of efficient alternatives that can substitute these drugs. But this search is still on and for temporary solution; healthcare sectors have published numerous safety guidelines and has also designed numerous safety equipments. Therefore, all the workers and other professionals must strictly implement all the safety guidelines and equipments introduced by the healthcare units.

Hazardous drugs contain noxious agents that may be helpful to the patients suffering from numerous diseases. But the professionals involved in drug manufacture, handling, administration, transport, distribution, storage, and disposal of such perilous medications are more prone to the deadly effects of these drugs. The safety guidelines published by different healthcare organizations concentrates on the use of personal protective equipments by the healthcare workers dealing with the hazardous substances. These personal protective equipments include disposable gowns, special powder-free gloves, masks, eye and face prevention against the splashing of harmful drugs and biological respirators when there is a risk of inhaling of the drug aerosols especially during the spill clean up. Use of these safety equipments and other such devices can reduce the risks of exposures to harmful drugs to a maximum extent.
