eBay is an immensely popular site with both buyers and sellers. Buyers love eBay because they are able to get some great bargains on unique and interesting products. Sellers enjoy using eBay because it makes it possible for them to put their products in front of thousands of people.
One of the best things about eBay selling is that all of the products are fresh. To list an item you have to pay a listing fee and this means that only items which really exist are ever added.
Writing the listing
When you want to list a product on eBay the very first thing that you will need to do is write the product listing. The listing will contain lots of useful information for the buyer to decide whether or not to purchase the item from you.
When you are new to eBay selling the process can be a little confusing however it doesn't need to be. The very first thing that you need to do is carefully choose the title that you want to give the listing.
The eBay search function will search through the titles of items which is why it's important you carefully choose the listing title. eBay selling will be much easier if you create a title that has a number of keywords in it that people often search for.
When it comes to actually writing the listing it is important that you make it look as professional as possible. To do this you either need to learn HTML or use one of the many templates on the internet.
Photos
A picture is worth a thousand words and it's very important that you include at least one with your eBay listing. This is extremely important even if you are selling something that people know what it looks like. The photo will show the buyer that you have the item there with you already and what sort of condition it is in.
If your listing doesn't have a photo then you are missing out on one of the biggest tricks in the book.
If there are any imperfections on whatever it is you are selling then you should point these out in the photos. This isn't doing yourself a disservice, but it is covering your back should anyone try to complain in the future.
If you want to upload more than one picture then you will be charged for each additional photo that you upload. You can alternatively store photos on another website and then link to them using your template.
When using pictures on eBay it is very important that you create a nice sized picture. You want to try and set your camera into internet or email mode so that it takes nice quality but smaller sized photos which can be uploaded to eBay.
If you upload photos which are too big then this can be a nightmare because buyers won't wait for them to load.
eBay selling can be great fun and highly profitable if done right, so why not give it a go?
