The most common ingredients used to make this herbal colic relief remedy are a combination of one or more of the following: dill, fennel, lemon balm, angelica, cinnamon, aniseed, ginger, peppermint and aloe vera. 3 parts chamomile
2 parts. Lemon balm
1 part Fennel
1 part Licorice root
1. Rinse the licorice root and fennel first.
2. Prepare one cup of boiling water.
3. Mix the ingredients with the boiling water and boil for 5 minutes.
4. Dilute the mixture adding some cool water (1 cup).
5. Leave the mixture to cool down.
6. Once at room temperature you may use a pippet to drop a few drops into your baby's mouth before feeding or when colicky.
7. Do not keep this solution for more than 24 hours.
Your baby will react differently to each recipe as each one has different ingredients. This remedy aims to soothe the symptoms of indigestion, gas and wind but does not cure colic. To cure colic you need to treat the cause of it. This is why using remedies that treat the symptoms is pure trial and error.
