Marketing your articles as a mini-poster is a great way to market your articles. This is something as far as I know I’m the only one that teaches it.

It is so cheap and so simple and so powerful. It is both an off-line and an online method and I’ll tell you how I discovered this.

Way back in ’98 I was getting ready to go down to Tampa to do a talk for a conference on managing stress. I had just learned about back of the room sales and I was wanting to try different things. So I went to Wal-Mart and bought a bunch of different packages of designer paper.

I printed out different tips in different niches on those and brought down hundreds of them, more then I ever thought I would sell but I also want to have more just in case. Well it’s a good thing I brought the originals on white paper because when I got done with that talk I couldn’t get back to my table fast enough, one of the staff had to take it over and start selling these things for a dollar. They cost five cents to make.

I was selling them for a dollar and I sold out of the ones that were on designer paper. Some of the conference directors took the white sheets of paper, just white sheets of paper with the tips on them, copied them off in the business center in the hotel, brought them back and people bought those for a dollar. It was incredible.

It’s a great way to bring people to your table and then they end up buying more things.

So all you do is you take one of these little pieces of designer paper and you print your tips on the front with your contact information. One of my favorites is the ones that come in scrolls and put the information inside the scroll and on one of the scroll rolls you put your contact information. It looks really cool.

On the web you just turn that into a pdf and sell it on your website. Are you going to get rich a buck at a time? No, but it’s a lead generator. At conferences it brings people to your table. On the Internet it gets people demonstrating buying behavior.

At conferences it’s really kind of funny cause sometimes I’ll laminate them and sell them for two dollars and people will walk around with them. When the conference gets warm people start fanning themselves with my little poster so it’s great advertisement.
