Our grandparents have been around for so many years, and they have undoubtedly been through a lot. They have lots of experiences in life that not any one of us can compare to. They have experienced millions of hardships, trials, and obstacles, as well as victories and celebrations.
If you want to honor your grandparents, creating a grandparents memory book is one good way to do that. It would help them remember all the wonderful and life-learning events in their lives, making them know how much they have contributed to this world.
You can start by looking for old photos of them. This can be a bit difficult to do, especially if your grandparents used to move a lot before. They might have left their pictures in their old house in a different city, state or country. But, if you are able to find a few of them, that might be enough to start working on your grandparents memory book.
You could create a time line by arranging the photos in chronological order. Try very hard to identify which photo comes first. This activity might be fun, especially if you have no idea how your grandma and grandpa looked like when they were much younger.
Next, you could write a short story that would serve as a caption to the photos. Try to make it funny and humorous so that readers would be entertained while browsing through the scrap book. You should know that your grandparents are not the only people who would want to look at your masterpiece once it is done.
When you are finished with the project, decide when is the best time to give the scrap book to your grandparents. Would you want to give it as a present on their anniversary? Would it be better to send it to them on one of their birthdays? Should you wait for Christmas or Thanksgiving so that all the family members are there to see what their reactions will be?
It is important that we never forget to show our grandparents how much we love and appreciate them in our lives. Let us not make them feel like they are worthless now that they are old. Grandparents are nice people that have never left us and always wanted only the best for us.
