Collecting words of wisdom for children by our grandparents should be likened to what children do with stamps in our days. You know what is being talked about. Perhaps the person reading this also took a significant part in those days. Remember how every stamp that flies in with a letter get carefully peeled off the postage and preserved? To put it in another way, going back to the grassroots of the future communities which are the children. Our grandparents have to make the extra effort needed to get back to the drawing board and set aside quality time to carve out all the special and most precious words of wisdom they have ever known on a marble stone that can outlive them and become an heritage for their children.
Why are we focusing on the grandparents? Because they have much more than the present day generation of people. Most of us today are fully occupied with our daily routines that to even see the words of wisdom around us is like a waste of time. It has to be a work for the elderly who have all the patience in the world and have see it all to tell what is wisdom and what is not. They can guide and direct to the right paths, shine light on the dark alleys and give clear cut instructions that make a difference in a life.
Will our grandparents take up this challenge to begin and continue to collect the words of wisdom they have come to know for the children while they still have a chance and are still living on this wonderful and precious planet earth of ours? It is advised. Who else is best for this task? No one else but our grandparents. They have seen more, they know more, and they understand more.
