The traditional method of selling your product or service using Google AdWords is to create an ad which links directly to your sales page. You attract 100s of visitors to your ad so they click on it to purchase your product. You continue to tweak or try different ads to improve your click through rate and sales.
One of the problems with this method is that you only get one chance to make a purchase from that visitor. If they click on your ad (which costs you money for each click) and don't buy they are gone forever. You've lost the opportunity to do business with them.
How to convert visitors into buyers
It's been proven that you need to expose your visitor to your offer seven times before they make the decision to purchase something from you. There are several reasons for this:
- They want to make an informed decision based on receiving more information about your product.
- They don't want to buy something based on impulse so they let the idea sit while they think about it.
- They get distracted by other offers
Offer an e-course
An e-course is a series of sequential email messages loaded up in an autoresponder that can be automatically scheduled for delivery to your visitors.
Example
Create a series of 7 messages describing the virtues of your product or service and schedule them to be sent each day for 7 days. This provides a solution for the 3 points mentioned above.
By offering valuable content and capturing their contact information you build a trusting relationship with your visitors. Customers tend to buy products from people they trust. Instead of shooting for a one time purchase you can continue to sell products over their lifetime based on the e-course you originally created.
