At the end of the game Sunday night, the Patriots were beating the Colts 34-28 with a little over two minutes to go in the fourth quarter. The Pats are in a 4th and 2 situation from their own 30 yard line. After Brady and Belichick talk it over, they decide to go for it. With the game on the line the Patriots appear to get the first down, but after a questionable spot by the official, the Colts hold and get the ball on the 30 yard line.

Now everyone is putting Belichick on blast for his decision to go for it from his own 30 with the lead. The experts are calling this a horrible coaching decision. Granted the Colts end up scoring and win the game 35-34. But the fact is, if they gain 2 yards, like they had done multiple times all game long, they win the football game.

So lets take a look at Belichick's three choices:

1. Punt, but with two minutes to go and timeouts in his hip pocket, Peyton Manning would most likely drive the length of the field and get the Colts in the end zone anyway.

2. Go for it and fail to make it, giving the Colts a short field with little chance of stopping them. Again, Peyton, two minutes and timeouts.

3. Go for it and convert on 4th, and WIN THE GAME!

The way I see it, is two out of the three choices Belichick was given, ended with Indy scoring Touch Downs. So why not go for it? Screw what yard line your on! It comes down to two yards and a 'W' on the road. Plus, I like to see coaches roll the dice sometimes; it adds a little excitement to the game. In fact more coaches should have some sack once in awhile and be willing to gamble.

Point is, if they get the first down in that situation they win the game and Belichick is praised for a ballsy call. But since we all know he didn't get the first down, all of a sudden he's an idiot.

You don't have to like Belichick or be a Pats fan to realize that the man is a winning coach. He took a gamble to get two yards with that offense; I mean come on who didn't think they were going to get that? The Pats went up and down the field all night on that Colts Defense.

You play to win the game!
