Golf Swing Speed - Superior Strength and Conditioning For Golf in One Exercise!

Expert Author Brandon Richey

To be a good golfer is one thing, but to be a dominant golfer means that you have to have a truly serious strength and conditioning program set in place in order to get you on top of the competition. You see as a strength and conditioning professional I can tell you right now that no matter if you play golf for recreation or as a professional there is only so much "golf swing specific" exercises you can do. I don't care how refined your swing is it want get better until you can hit the ball further and further off the tee. Read on if I have your attention!

Best Strength And Conditioning For Golf!

You see when it comes to either hitting booming drives off the tee or hitting an accurate shot from the bunker you still have to have total body strength and muscular control. You see being a strength and conditioning specialist and personal fitness trainer here in Atlanta, Georgia (Buford to be exact) I have worked for years teaching ALL athletes how to best achieve this muscular strength and total body control. In terms of developing this kind of control there is no better exercise for your golf fitness program than the kettlebell swing.

If you haven't seen the ancient kettlebell this device basically resembles a cannonball with a handle attached to it. Kettlebells originated in Russia and this strength and conditioning device requires you to master the dynamic nature of efficient body movement in order to effectively lift and move it. This is where one of the base strength endurance lifts such as the swing comes into play. You see this single lift involves you having to swing the bell from between your legs up to chest level back and forth like a pendulum. This exercise is terrific for your golf swing because it teaches you how to develop superior core strength through the action of movement. As I normally tell my clients, "You don't get a better golf swing by doing arm curls!" This only makes sense because swinging the club in involves a big core and trunk rotational movement.

If you are wanting to improve your overall fitness and performance then kettlebell swings are the best starting point for your golf conditioning program.
