Golf Shoes - Some Things You Need to Think About
Print This Article Ezine Publisher Send To Friends Add To Favorites Post A Comment Suggest Topic Report Author

When it comes to thinking about golf equipment that can improve your game, the first thing that will probably come to mind is a golf club like a new golf driver, irons or wedge. But what about golf shoes? They are often overlooked but considering that a golf player can spend hours on a course, they can actually have a larger impact than you may have originally thought.

The first consideration when buying a new set of golf shoes is the material. Leather shoes are water proof and have micro holes that allow the feet to breath. This is especially important if you are playing on a hot summer's day. The last thing you want is a shoe that traps perspiration and heat as this can lead to skin problems, swelling and blisters. Leather shoes are the best types that you can buy to play golf.

Polyester shoes are cheap and inexpensive, but aren't as breathable as leather. They usually aren't as durable or offer as much support. However, if money is an issue then polyester shoes are worth a look.

Gortex shoes are the most expensive that money can buy. This type of material is ideal to stop your feet from getting wetter or preventing blisters. If you play in an area which experiences plenty of wet weather or ground then these shoes should be very high on your list.

Once you have chosen the material you will need to think about the style of shoe. The classic shoe is the one that you are probably most familiar with. They look like a normal sports shoe. The next is the sandal style and this is cheapest model you can buy. The main advantage of a sandal is that the sides are open and are therefore cool in the heat. A boot golf shoe is a rare style but is available for people who want good traction on wet ground and support or protection.
