Golf - A Networking Event

Since time playing golf has always been a social event, you can take the day off from work and kick back and relax. No matter what skill level you are, or who you play it is still a fun time. Golf is about bonding with fellow friends or family and about starting relationships. Whether you are trying to get to know a new client or getting closer to a friend the sport can always be enjoyed. Golf can be used as a business or networking tool to lock in relationships with prospective clients.

A lot of times trying to get a new sale or client would mean taking them out to eat and talking about it over lunch or dinner. This so called meeting would usually last about an hour or so and you would have just enough time to build a small relationship and to get your pitch out. This is great, but if you are looking to build a stronger relationship and increase your chances of sealing the deal then how about inviting them out to a round of golf? Golf usually takes roughly around 3 or so hours to play depending upon the course that you are at. Think about having an extra 2 plus hours to chat with your client as well as getting to play your favorite sport, "Great, right?" This way you are not rushing to get your sales presentation out and both you and your client get to enjoy the game.

Many golf courses also have an actual clubhouse that you can be a part of. The clubhouses are usually very upscale offering great food, a bar, and a place to take a break from the great game. This gives you another opportunity to look very professional to your client as well as having some more time to chat about business propositions.
