God Cares For Your Soul

When God had nearly finished the process of creation, He said, "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness". So God created man in His own image and likeness. You are worth something, for God created you. You have value, for you were created in God's image. Alone of all of God's creation, man is given "dominion" over the world which God created. You are something special to God, for you bear His image and are put here on earth to fulfill His purpose.

Even when man rebelled against God, and sinned, God still cared and planned for man's forgiveness and reconciliation. The Bible bore witness of the love of God for the whole world. This love made Him to send His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ into the world, so that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but the same shall have eternal life. The great truth which Jesus reveals in the story of the prodigal son in Luke chapter 10 is that no matter how far from God you have strayed, God still loves you and wants you to come home. God still cares.

God commended His love toward us, in the sense that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Now, when you rebel against God, He feels the hurt of your sin - just as you are hurt by the offense of someone you love. But God still wants you back to Him because He does not want any man to perish or suffer eternal damnation. He wants us to come to the knowledge of the truth and be saved.

Sorrow entered the world as a result of the sin of the first human couple. Work that was originally given as a blessing now has to be carried out with the sweat of our brow. Sin brought in suffering and all sorts of evil activities that pose a threat to human life. Because of sin, these resistant elements - "thorns and thistles" came to be to us, symbols of difficulties and suffering, which characterize human life today.

The generations after Adam have all endeavoured in their own way to defy the consequences of the Fall. But the many ways they have virtually succeeded - the achievements in technology and medicine - point to us that the research towards such progress is a struggle against "thorns and thistles". Fresh obstacles, further problems and even victims play their part in this field, but the person - man or woman - who trusts in God, there is a special comforting promise of salvation/security. How happy all can be who by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ know true peace with God!

Beloved, when you think that "no one cares", just try to remember that God cares for you, because despite all the problems we cause upon the face of the earth, God still beckons to us to come home!
