One of the best ways to get easy traffic and grow a reputation for your website and your writing is by distributing free e-books. I often write short free e-books that I distribute on many different websites to get a ton of free traffic. The best part about sending out these free e-books is people love them and they want to give them away! All you have to do is put in a link to an affiliate offer or your website at the end and you make money no problem. It works especially well if you talk about your product through out the e-book.
The key is to offer valuable information that your target audience can use to help better their lives or their career. If you offer valuable information the person will want to click through to your website or offer because they value your opinion. The best advice I can give when using this technique is to offer quality information. If you're not doing this it will hurt you greatly. When writing your e-book you don't have to make it long; five to ten pages is fine. Add some images in there and use headings to divide the content. At the end of your e-book you want to add a short paragraph that talks about your product or what ever website you want to drive traffic to. This paragraph is similar to a resource box at the end of an article.
Now that you have your e-book ready to go in PDF format it is time to start distributing this thing. One of the best ways to distribute your free e-book is to use forums. Forums are so great because people are looking for tips to help them. Often forums will have an area where you can give away free e-books very easily. Once you have this thread with your free e-book up, go ahead and add the link to you forum signature then post some comments around the forum this should drive even more traffic.
There are also a bunch of sites out there that you can submit your e-book to. Google "e-book directory" and you should find a bunch of cool sites to use. This is pretty time-consuming so the forums is the best way to go but if you want that extra boost of traffic this is the way to go.
Now that you have all of these tips down it is time to get out there and get to work. Start by writing some quality content with your link at the bottom or woven through out the e-book. Then set up your forum threads and start getting some traffic. The most important step is what you do after your done reading this. Don't just sit there take action!
