Getting traffic to your site will help you tell everyone about it. You have posted some unique content there and now you need to get people to visit it. What you are really looking for is targeted traffic - those people who are interested in your niche and what you have to offer.
Let us look at how we can achieve this.
1. We need to sign up for an autoresponder and create an opt-in. The opt-in allows your visitors to sign up and get the free gift you are offering in exchange for the visitors name and email address. This gift has to be applicable to your niche. So if you are in the dog training niche - offer a free report about training your dog.
2. You need to share your site using social media sites like Stumbleupon, Digg, Reddit, Delicious and Facebook.
3. Using Google, search for other blogs that are in you niche. Visit them and read what they have written and leave a meaningful comment. When you comment and leave your URL you will get a backlink to your site.
4. Sign up for forums in your niche. Again using Google, search for these forums and make sure you choose the most active in your niche. Most forums allow you to have a signature block where you can include your URL.
5. When sending out emails make sure you include the URL as part of your signature.
6. If you have created your site using WordPress, WordPress will automatically ping each blog post you write. You can also manually ping your blog.
7. Add your URL to Google, Yahoo and Bing.
8. When you are having your business cards or flyers printed, make sure you include your URL.
9. Write articles and include your URL in your signature block. If you are using some blogging platforms to post content and get links, make sure you always check out their terms and conditions before posting. Write a unique article for Ezine but you can write another article on the same subject and use a submission service to have it published many times.
10. When using WordPress, use an RSS feed.
11. Always write unique content for your site and make sure that you keep adding content on a regular basis. Use both internal and external links.
12. Why not set up a blog roll and link to any other blogs you have or blogs of friends? This adds extra interest.
13. Create a fan page in Facebook.
