Ok, you have just moved into your new place. After all the stress of finding it, you now have to find the right utilities package. Depending on your area, you may be surrounded in choice, or have little, but it pays to customize, no matter what.

Finding a phone company is usually one of the first things you want to do. Naturally, if you own a cell phone, then you may think that you do not need to get a fixed line.

But before making this decision, you should check out whether the companies offer bundled services, where you get discounted cable TV, internet, and phone together. It may actually be cheaper to have a phone line with one of these bundles, than to not and get the other services separately.

You need to find a phone company that will offer you exactly what you want. For instance, if you never call long distance, it is a stupid idea to get a service that gives you cheap rates for these calls at the expense of some other saving.

Another area where you may get carried away is deciding which cable services to get. Work out what you are actually going to watch and just get those channels.

Having internet has become a vital element now. If you only use it lightly then you could save by getting the bare minimum service. If, on the other hand, you are a heavy user, it makes sense to get a deal that allows for big downloads.

You may find that your provider will give you extra services as a tempter for free, which is great. Just be sure that once the offer is up, you cancel these extra services if you don't want them.

Even after you have signed up for a service, keep your eyes peeled for other offers. You never know what bargains are going to turn up.
