The date December 21, 2012 is a date that has been picked out due to the Mayan Calendar. The Mayans were an ancient civilization that lived in Northern America around the 6th Century BC. This was a community of people who were amazingly advanced and extremely accurate when it came to astronomy and mathematics. The Mayans devised a calendar that they referred to as the Long Count calendar. This tool was used by them to not only record their future dates in advance, but also to predict various worldly events in their future.
When we look at the Long Count Calendar we see that they have accurately predicted both the first and the second world wars. They also predicted the settlement of white man on the shores of central America. These predictions reached far into their futures ( our pasts) and the accuracy with which they were able to pinpoint the dates is truly astounding.
What concerns us today is that the Mayan Long Count Calendar actually ends on December 21st, 2012. Many have known of this date for decades, and have pondered the significance of the ending. Some have interpreted it as the end of the world. Others have used this date and compared it to other historical predictions and seen that they correlate as being a time when the earth will undergo a cataclysmic event.
When we look at many of the different predictions, it becomes quickly apparent that this date in time signifies a major change for the earth.
