There is nothing to do beyond adopting a sensible diet and doing the correct types of exercises. If you do these two things, you can be assured of getting 6 pack abs as well. However there are certain distractions that you have to watch out for because they can delay or completely derail your plans of getting the perfect 6 pack abs.
Since there is so much of work involved, there is a very high possibility that you will lose motivation very early in the process. You have to counteract this by being very systematic in your approach. You have to list out your goals, making sure that they are specific and can be easily quantified. Your goals should also be reasonably achievable so that you can feel good every time you cross them. Your goal setting process should also take into account that this is not an easy task and might take some time.
Once you have set your targets, you should not let distractions such as boredom or de-motivation keep you from the path you are on.
You also have to clearly note down the plan you propose to follow. Since diet is one element of your 6 pack plan and exercise the other, you have to list out what you are going to do. You should also periodically cross check to see if you are going on track. This will prevent you from deviating from the plan, whether on purpose or by accident.
If you have hobbies or habits that prevent you from devoting sufficient time and effort to your p pack plan, you should put them aside for a while. This is also a good time to get rid of habits such as smoking, drinking alcohol or overeating.
If you are able to focus your efforts, nothing can stop you from having 6 pack abs like all the people you admire.
