The Secretary General of CPC or the Communist Party of China recently declared that the 2008 Beijing Olympics is ready. As all other preparations are nearing its final preparatory stages, the entire organizing team behind this tedious and time consuming work is congratulating one another for the great accomplishment that their respective committees had reached. Beijing, together with other co host cities is up and running. The city of Beijing belonging to the country dubbed as the "sleeping giant" had finally awakened. However, before it all, the greatest achievements so far are the magnificent facilities and unique sporting venues or buildings that will be used for the Beijing Olympics.

There are actually 37 official venues for the entire event. As a start, also known as the "Bird's Nest," Chinas National Stadium is already operational and 100 percent fully functional. Influential and eye-catchy, simply cannot suffice the correct description that this structure deserves to have. With the latest technology and improvements in architectural designs, this sporting arena signals the advent of the opening of all other masterpieces in the city, solely created for the purpose of the August Beijing Olympics and tourism. Even if it is the last completed Olympic venue, it may also be the greatest among the rest that was ever built in the Beijing Olympic Green (the location of most of the sporting venues).

Nothing comes close to this engineering marvel when it comes to artistry and design. With an astounding more than 20 hectares of area covered, this nest-like structure can accommodate more than 90,000 spectators. Because of its ingenious design, the spectators can view the games staged in the stadium without compromising their viewing points. Being the grand arena, this venue will be the place for the opening and closing ceremonies at the same time the venue for the track and field events and other related sports. All tourists that are coming in to watch the Olympics will truly get more than what they had paid for. Surely, they will all have the time of their life as they enjoy the games, cheer for their favorite athletes or teams while also being kept comfortable in their seats.

The next landmark made for the Beijing Olympics is both creative and astonishing. The city's new swimming center otherwise known as the "Water Cube" has an overall physical appearance of a box made or shaped entirely out of bubble. It is located near "The Nest" and will showcase some water sports and swimming events in their "bubble pool." Also using lightweight material, the infrastructure will definitely be a head turner for those who are bound to witness the Olympics.

Lastly, the National Grand Theater or the "Egg Shell" will become China's top performing arts center and a first class art palace. To be used as an opera house showcasing various music, arts, dancing, drama and other literary creations, this edifice will become another tourist destination in the Olympics. Having an odd yet breathtaking design, one will never miss his or her trip without first visiting this place. With all these technical aspects that the city of Beijing is showcasing, there is no doubt that the Beijing Olympics will be an event worth remembering for the rest of your life.
