Get the Freelance Writing Jobs You Want - 3 Tips
Print This Article Ezine Publisher Send To Friends Add To Favorites Post A Comment Suggest Topic Report Author

Are you hunting for freelance writing jobs? You can get all the jobs you want. There's an amazing amount of freelance work available on the web, both advertised and unadvertised. Here are three tips which will work for you.

1. What Will You Write?

Your first step is to decide what you want to write. Do you want to write for magazines? Websites? Would you like to write ebooks?

Decide what you want to write, and start hunting for jobs which fit those criteria.

2. Decide How You'll Get Your Name in Front of Your Buyers

Hunting for writing jobs can waste lots of time.

When you respond to an advertised job, you're joining hundreds of other writers. Although you may be able to ace the competition, many of these jobs that are heavily advertised to just not just not worth getting. The pay tends to be miserable, and while they're good experience if you're a new writer, you shouldn't linger in these low-paid ghettos too long.

So how will you get your name in front of your buyers? There many ways. If you're an established writer, and you have some capital to invest in your career, then you should use paid advertising. This is the simplest way to get buyers to come to you and to generate an ongoing flow of work.

If you don't have any money at the moment, then use free advertising -- there are many online classified sites and some of these can work very well.

3. Three Months to Success: Be Persistent

Persistence is your most useful attribute as a writer -- it's much more useful than writing "talent". Your persistence depends on the confidence you have, and confidence builds as you complete projects successfully.

As your confidence and experience grows, you will make more income.

Although it's very possible to start making a great income from your writing in your very first month, for most writers it takes at least three months to start seeing a solid income.

Here's a bonus tip: the more action you take, the more results you get. This is only common sense -- so take action.
