Maria has been thinking of getting her guy back after her breakup. The only problem was she started a row for a silly reason. She accused Steven of flirting with her sister. This was at the end of a very rough day.

All she can think of is how to get her guy back. She really cares for Steven and wants him back badly. Steven refuses to even talk to her and is just not prepared to sort things out. What can Maria do now?

The first step Maria needs to take is to apologize to Steven. She needs to apologize sincerely to Steven. If it is not possible to talk to him, she should then write a note to him.

A genuine apology has three essential components. She needs to know what she did wrong. Why she reacted the way she did and lastly that she will not give a repeat performance.

Maria could tell Steven that "I am sorry that I accused you of flirting with my sister. I had had a very rough day at work and was feeling very insecure. It had nothing to do with you, but I vented it on you. I am sorry and I will be careful that this does not happen again."

Once she has finished apologizing, she needs to move back and give Steven the space to think about it and decide whether he is prepared to accept the apology. She should not try to contact him, it should be his prerogative to contact her. Translated this means no calls, no texts, no emails; no contact on social networks nothing.

It also means that she will not ask another friend to mediate between the two of them. As it amounts to her contacting him. Another risk involved here is chances of misrepresentation of her messages to him, maybe involuntarily. So avoid contact.

Steven will have to get in touch with her sooner or later. If for nothing else, at least for getting his stuff back. Only then should she get into action.

Here we refer to light action not heavy artillery. All she needs to do is talk about the good times they had together. Refer to a particularly good time they had and other such pleasant stuff.

If Steven reacts positively, only then should she casually ask if they could go out for a coffee sometime. Everything now depends on his reaction.

If Steven agrees to go out and they can fix a date, only then need Maria take out the heavy artillery. She can softly tell him how much she misses him and that she would love to get back together with him.
