Were you taught to be sweet, kind and demure to make a man love you? Have you been acting as nice as can be and guys still aren't flocking to be with you? Do you sometimes think you should vamp it up, but you just don't know how far to go? Being nice is not necessarily a bad thing, but it can be useful to know just how nice you should be with a new guy.
Back in your mother's day, women were very much encouraged to be pretty and shut up. We were the attractive accessory on a man's arm, but our opinions didn't matter. All that was expected of us was to know how to cook, clean and care for the kids.
Today that has dramatically changed. Men don't just want a doormat or a woman who'll simply agree with him no matter what he says. He's looking for a woman who'll be his equal partner, not just a yes-man.
Don't be afraid to show him how intelligent you are and share your opinions with him about a variety of subjects. Let him see that you're independent and capable of caring for yourself. Guys today want a woman who has plenty to bring into a new relationship. He doesn't want to have to carry the whole load and meeting a woman who's got it all together can be very liberating.
However there may be a few things from the past that you might want to cling to; namely your sexual availability. Though times have changed in this capacity, you still want to refrain from jumping into bed too quickly with a guy. Like it or not, many men still have a negative view of women who are too easy.
If you're in the habit of making your sexual promiscuity common knowledge, this could greatly turn off the serious men who don't want to go where so many have gone before.
Also keep in mind that though men do appreciate a woman's independence, some might be uncomfortable with a woman who so blatantly tries to shove her successes down a guy's throat.
No matter what you do, don't turn your date with a guy into a competition of who's better. You might come out the winner, proving you've got the great title and salary to go with it, but you might very well be alone by the end of the evening.
Make him adore you by being the fun girl he always wants to be with.
