Getting abs isn't hard. There's no big secret, but sometimes it's hard to know where to start. That's why I'm basically writing this article. I want to show you how easy it really is. Because I've been in that place, where I thought I'd have to hit the gym every hour of the day, change what I ate, put in massive amounts of effort, and then it'd take me maybe a year.
And the truth is, it's really so much, so much simpler than that. All you really need is the right direction, the right information and the right tips, about how to go about it. And again, it's easy to say that, but i remember spending hours looking for all that information. Learning through trial and error, messing things up, getting it wrong.
But thankfully I managed to get there. And now I'm here to share it with you, and show you really how easily it can be achieved. Really, looking back, I made a complete mess of it, I could have saved so much time and effort had I had the advice I'm going to give you right here.
So let's get to it then.
It's essentially a process involving two things. Body fat percent, and muscle mass.
There's no need to diet and hit the treadmill till you've got nothing left, and there's no need to hit the weights hard 24/7 either. If you do a little each way you'll end up with a respectable set of abs you'll be proud to show off on the beach.
It's a game of putting in the effort where it's most required. You may have heard of the 80/20 rule. If you haven't, then it basically dictates that 20% of the work will deliver 80% of the rewards. It's like saying you'll gain 8lb's of muscle for 20 minutes work, but if you want 10 lb's it'll take you and EXTRA hour and 20 minutes. That's 5 times more work for 2 more measly pounds.
Basically the way to go, is to put in that 20%, to get yourself to a respectable place, then decide from there if you really want to go the extra 80. For most people it's really not necessary. But that's up to you.
So abiding by this rule, we'll want to do some modest crunches, daily if you can, but no sweat if you can't. I'm talking maybe 10 minutes a day. Basically till you feel like you've worked out. And then throw in some modest cardio to cut down the body fat percent. Say half an hour 3 times a week. You could easily get away with less though, so don't sweat it.
