Free Traffic with Forums
Forums targeted to your niche are useful in generating traffic to make money online. Benefits are:
- Visited by many people
- Active discussion
- Posts are permanent
Posting in forums is a little tricky as you would probably be banned from a forum if you post anything that sounds like an ad or a sales pitch. Doing this actually acts against yourself as your website will be seen as spam. Forum administrators do not like spam, affiliates, and free ads. If you're not careful, you might just end up getting banned within a day or so. Here's how to do it the right way:
Effective posting in forums
The concept is about the same as that of articles. You have to give before you take. Placement of links in your post is CRITICAL here. Whatever you do, make sure you stick to these rules:
1. Do not sound like you're advertising
2. Do not SPAM links
3. Post replies and information which will help others.
Posting Links To Your Site As An Answer To Questions
If your website has content which will answer a question someone has posted, you can reply with something like:
"hey, I think you can find your answer here." (The word here contains your website link.)
Even a short reply like this can be extreme effective, provided your website provides a high quality answer. What will typically follow is the person who asked the question will be happy, and reply your thread with a word of thanks. You will then seem like a credible source to others who read that post.
Posting Your Website Link In Your Signature
Including a website link in your signature allows you to not have any site links in your post body itself, further eliminating the possibility of your post being seen as spam. With this method, you can post almost anything you want, whether it's a simple reply to a thread, or starting a new thread altogether.
Most forums allow you to edit font sizes and styles in your signature. Make your text a little larger, or bold it to make it more noticeable.
