Gel Candles You Can Create

Expert Author Ruth Clark

The fame of gel candles has risen over the years. Even though they have the same characteristics as the regular candles that we have, they are often produced in another way.

Same as regular candles, gel waxes are composed of oil as well. The oil compositions are 95% mineral oil while there's only 5% of polymer resin content. These gel waxes have three distinct consistency states, such as: low, medium and high consistencies. Whenever resin powder stirred together with mineral oils, the combination creates the solid form of gel waxes. The one with the highest consistencies of gel waxes has the capacity to obtain a huge amount of fragrance. Another thing to remember is that if you're thinking to fill in stylish designs into your candles it should have a think gel consistency. However, you need to wait for the thick gel to settle and that it would also make it a bit difficult for you to transfer it from a boiler to your pans or molds.

You should follow all the simple process in making a common candle, like heating to melt, transferring containers, and letting it settle in the molds. Although in gel waxes, there are distinctions, when it comes to the tools used and the procedures that are being followed. If you use the common double-boiler pans for gel waxes, it would simply take sometime for it to dissolve, hence another equipment was used for this purpose. A multi-cooker, regularly could be termed as a deep fryer or frying pan, it also has a non-stick surface feature. You don't even need a thermometer to measure this fryer's temperature and not over heat your gel candles. It actually has its own thermometer. Now if you would stir the contents occasionally, do not use wooden spoon that might create water bubbles to your gel later. Instead, use hard plastic or metal spoon stirrers. For cases of caution, you need to take note that gel candle waxes easily burns up, so get a fire extinguisher nearest you.

Using crayons, food coloring, soap dyes and cloth dyes would cause your gel candles not to burn light. This is because they're not made out particularly for candles. What we could use, on the other hand are liquid candle dyes to allow our gel candles to change color, normally and maintain its translucent effect. Just pour in a small quantity of dye into your gel candles, yet other times, even a drop of dye could be very much already.

Gel candle production has already placed its mark over the years. When you decorate these gel waxes, simply let your frills or designs float and it would create a kind of effect that's quite unique. Think about your loved ones today, and create candles for them according to their personalities. All together, the chances to improve the styles and consistencies of gel candles are still unlimited and we keep on growing still. The talent within us is the ones that made these chances possible. Let us explore these chances and hope to enhance these beautiful designs for the future generations.
