Gaining six pack abs is not as difficult as you may think, but it's important that you understand what you are doing before you even make an attempt. There's lots of advice out there which is misleading so I am going to reveal the two step method in this short article, which will have you ripped in no time.
Before I go into the two step process/method please understand that there is no way you are going to get a full blown six pack if you have too much belly fat. This is the biggest misconception out there and many people launch right into crunches without seeing any results. So let me get into the process...
Step 1 - Burn Off the Belly Fat
This will involve a combination of many things but the two main things that will help you burn belly fat and gaining six pack abs are cardio exercise and a proper diet. The diet is fundamental to your efforts so it's important that if you aren't eating well that you stop and begin consuming healthier foods. Ensure that your new healthier diet is filled with lots of vegetables, wholegrain and lean meat.
The second element of step one is cardio exercise. By doing a regular jog or cycling a few miles each day you can begin to see dramatic results in your fat burning efforts. If you live near a pond or lake, rowing is also a very good way to burn fat.
Step 2 - Tone the Abdominal Muscles
If you followed step one carefully and manage to burn the belly fat, then you are prime for the second step which will tone the ab muscles and give them the definition that you are after. Now, I know that you might be tempted to start toning using crunch exercises, but there are better more effective ab exercises out there.
You can start with hanging knee raises. These are very effective and when you start doing them and feel a bit of pain, you can be sure that you'll start seeing results soon. If you have to do crunches, try doing them on an exercise ball.
