Technology is great. For the countless number of young people who are growing up in the new millennium, they will have far more at their fingertips from a technological standpoint when compared to people who are not even a decade older than them. This is how quickly we have made such advances in technology.

Among these numerous technological advances that have been made, perhaps nowhere else is this more clear than in a person's vehicle. Why, remember the days before cars had radio players? Remember when 8-tracks were the happening thing before cassette players and then CD players became the norm? Now, almost everyone and their mother has an iPod. Not only this, but now even the Mp3 players are enhanced for vehicles. For example, the last time I was at home in New York visiting my family, I borrowed my father's car to run an errand because he was blocking my car in the driveway. However, this wasn't before he gave me a full tutorial on how to get into his car, start his car and then drive it.

I thought it was pretty ridiculous that I would need instructions for how to drive when I have been driving for years now, but boy was I glad. It turns out that my dad may have just been driving around in a spaceship. His car had a key fob. You just had to have it on your person and then you had to press a button on the underside of the door handle once for it to unlock automatically for you. Then when you got into the car, there was no key to actually start the car with. Again, using the presence of the key fob, all you had to do was turn the ignition switch to start the car. There were so many buttons and doo-dads on his dashboard, that I was afraid to touch anything, lest the car turn into a spaceship and fly away!
