If you are going to a party or want to invite some friends over this weekend, why not play some air hockey, ping pong, or even a basketball game with them. It will be a great way to add some fun to your weekend, get to know new people, and it gets your heart pumping and gives you a workout without you even knowing it. If you have a cat or dog, play with them. If you have a dog take them for a walk or to the park to play fetch. If you have a cat, spend a couple hours petting them and playing with them. Both of these activities are fun and they will give you the exercise you need, not to mention your animal will love the idea.
If your loved one has been begging you to go dancing or to take a dance lesson, why not try it. It will give you a nice workout, and you get to learn something new and this will probably give you points with your loved one for at least a little while. If you have always wanted to learn a new skill such as karate, kick boxing, or even yoga this weekend may be the perfect time to try it out. It will help you get fit, stay in shape, maintain a healthy weight and you get to meet new people and learn to defend yourself all at the same time.
Most of us may do these activities on the weekends already without really realizing how good they are for our health. Just because its exercise does not mean it has to be boring or even difficult. So when the weekend arrives, sure give yourself a break from the sit-ups and pushups and just play with the kids or take a walk. This will keep you in shape and you may not want to stop, it is so much fun.
