Kids will surely love knowing about fun cool Math trivia, those interesting facts that we all did not know or that it exists at all. Getting into a discussion about these trivia will surely liven up any Math lesson and would be added information for any student. Kids will also enjoy knowing something that other kids and even their parents would be hardly ever know. 

Here are some fun cool Math trivia kids will love to tell and would easily remember:

  1. Googol is the term used for a number 1 followed by 100 zeros and that it was used by a nine-year old, Milton Sirotta, in 1940.
  2. Plus (+) and Minus (-) sign symbols were used as early as 1489 A.D.
  3. Slide Rule is the mathematical instrument used for computing before the calculator was introduced in 1970.
  4. Zero was discovered by an Arab mathematician named Al-Khwarizmi in 800 B.C.
  5. Abacus is considered the origin of the calculator.
  6. 12,345,678,987,654,321 is the product of 111,111,111 x 111,111,111. Notice the sequence of the numbers 1 to 9 and back to 1.
  7. Equal sign (=) was first used in 1557 by Robert Recorde, an Englishman.
  8. 153 is equal to1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9+10+11+12+13+14+15+16+17. This is the only number known to have sequential addends from 1 to 17.
  9. A number per second will come up to 12 days to reach counting to One Million and 32 years to reach One Billion.
  10. 37,037 when multiplied by any multiplier from 1 to 9 and the resulting product is multiplied by 3, all the digits of the final answer will be the multiplier.
  11. Jiffy is a unit of time equivalent to 1/100th of a second.
  12. Icosahedron is a geometric shape that has twenty (20) equal sides.
  13. 1,741,725 is equal to 1^7 + 7^7 + 4^7 + 1^7 + 7^7 + 2^7 + 5^7.
  14. Letter A occurs only if you count to one thousand (1000).
  15. Fibonacci is the sequence of numbers wherein a number is the result of adding the two numbers before it, like this 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, and so on. 

Trivia are interesting facts about something and Math and its language, symbols and concepts have to be learned to be able to use them that knowing about these facts will help kids in learning. There is a lot of fun and cool Math trivia around that you will be surprised that there are still things you do not know or have no knowledge of even if you are a Math fanatic.
