This is the second poetry book that Mary Ann has written. It is filled with faith and shows you that with it, God can help with any family dysfunctions within your life. The beginning starts with the problems she is dealing with within her life with her Son. Towards the end of the book she has put her faith totally into God's hands and
you then feel assured that he will turn the situation around.
There is a lovely motif on each page that is similar to her beautiful cover scene. She used 35 different creative styles of poetry to enhance her words, thoughts and subjects. There is a Poetic glossary that gives all the definitions of each style she has accomplished. Each poem has its style under title so the reader can immediately know what style she has written. Having this at the back of the book is great as it does not interfere with your reading and is just accessible to anyone that writes poetry and wants to learn these formats.
Many invented styles of the Poets of this era are shown in this glossary. Among them are Acronet, Butterfly- Form, Candlelight, Christina's View, Distorted Diablo, F & L Rhyming Mary's Way, Daveda's Charm, Lucky Leaf, Joseph's Star, Michelle's Heart, and Patricia's Harmony. I am sure the Creators of these invented styles are pleased she has used their forms to create such beautiful poetry.
Her poetry has excelled to a higher level where she expresses herself brilliantly using this multitude of poetic forms. Her spirituality flows through within these poems to offer you hope and faith to cope with any problems within your own life. You feel her heart and soul as she wrote each and every one of these poems.
When inspiration was brought on by a spiritual passage, she notes that passage under the poem she wrote. This is a lovely way for her readers to follow up by going to the reference in their own Bibles.
I especially loved the poem "Let God Lead." This is an Anaphora poem that is powerfully written. It has great faith within each phrase. An Anaphora is a poem that begins each phrase with the same words and her words are great here as they are" Let God Lead." Anaphora poetry is used in many Christian hymns.
She wrote a beautiful Etheree, entitled, "Deliver Me." This is a lovely poem that has very strong emotion. I felt her vibrations here as the powerfully written prayer was written. A Etheree is unmetered and unrhymed verse that starts with one syllable and ends with ten syllables in the tenth line.
"The Experience" written in the "Tree of Life" form was magnificent in the content, expression and the proper use of the format. The message she gives to us here is loud and clearly written, to keep our faith. This was another fantastic poem that I truly enjoyed. This form takes on the shape of a tree when it is center aligned and the syllable structure of format is followed. She did this to perfection.
"Glad to be Free" written in the Daveda's Cascade format was truly a lovely way to end her book. Here you feel her burdens have lifted and through prayer to God she has come out from that pit of despair. This beautiful form allowed her to give beautiful expression and a fine analysis of her life and the great ending solution.
Each and every one of her poems was written with great emotion and done to specifications of each of the forms she listed. The book is really a treasure to own. The message of faith is shown throughout and I thoroughly enjoyed this fine collection of poetry written from the heart and soul of this Mother. Through her experiences that she has shared with us, she may help another family to find the solution to their problems.
I hope you have enjoyed this book review I have written to express my feelings on this book. It is a fine collection to have in anyone's poetry collection.
