'Press Release' is what the name implies, namely a communication 'released' to the 'press' and containing information that might entice editors of online and hard copy publications to print some of that information and encourage their readers to learn more about whatever you are selling.

Properly done, a press release may be read by millions of readers in your target publication, and downloaded by other editors to use in their own online and print publications and can ultimately leads to thousands of sales for you on eBay. But there is a little work involved in getting this free publicity, but don't worry, it isn't hard work. Just bear in mind you are asking busy editors for free publicity, so it makes sense to make your release as easy as possible for those people to read and understand, and for them to include in their publications with the minimum of effort. So, apart from including useful information, well written and free from spelling and grammatical errors, your press release should follow the accepted standard format, which includes:

* Headline.
* Introduction.
* Four or five content rich paragraphs.
* Call to Action.
* Contact Details.
* Summary.
