Forums As Places to Work Together

You might have your own forum or be a member of someone else's. Whichever it is, you have a great opportunity to work with others and for them to work with you.

1 Blogging. If you have a blog, you can find other writers on forums. That is, if you see someone writing interesting threads or posts whose subjects are relevant to your blog, you ask them to write something to publish on your blog. You can find people related to the same topic but who have a new angle or extra knowledge which will benefit your readers or subscribers.

2 Joint Ventures. You can find Joint Venture partners on the forum. People might be looking to work with someone else and might advertise the fact. Or you may see an opportunity yourself in terms of ideas that they have written about or work they're involved in.This is a great advantage. Normally, to get a Joint Venture you'd have to write off cold to someone and ensure you can get your email opened, never mind read. That can be frustrating. But since you're both in the same forum you can join in conversations they're taking part in and over time gain trust. Then, when you contact them, perhaps through the forum, they recognise you and will be more willing to consider your offer. Of course, it could be that you'd be contacted by someone else.

3 Ads. Some forums allow you to advertise products. This is not just in the signature at the end of a post. There might be some allowance of advertising, or, at least, recommending, in the body of a post. Other forums may have a separate area where you can place ads for forum members only. In effect, you have a kind of captive audience, especially if they know and trust you.
