The Xbox 360 which came to the market recently is now showing some kind of hardware problem. The console is showing some strange red lights in the power ring area. The power ring area consists of four lights around the power push button. These lights are capable of glowing in both green and red color. The color in the power ring area depends upon the condition of the console system. If the system is running fine, then the console's power ring lights glow green. But at the same time, when there is a problem within the console, the power ring lights go red in color. Apart from this, the number of lights that glow also differs from time to time depending upon the type of the error. Now, users have complained about one of the types of red light errors called as the three red light error.

THREE RED LIGHTS ERROR
When this error occurs, you can see three red lights glowing in the power ring area. Generally, an error occurs only if there is a problem within the console and usually these errors are such that they don't occur so often. But, this three red light error is occurring very often and without any proper reason. When a red light error occurs in a console, the error can be solved by some means by the user. And also these are not serious errors, yet they simply occur because of design problems. Hence, the errors can be solved by taking the necessary corrections. Also in this Xbox 360, the console will state the type of error that has occurred and the place it has occurred. Thus, by following the instructions the user can solve the problem. In case of the three red light error, there occurs an error message, but the user cannot understand the format, as it looks like a code. The code that appears before the screen is E74.

REASON BEHIND THE OCCURRENCE
It was said that the error occurs because of the overheat developing inside the console. Since the console was being used for very long hours, the components inside liberated heat due to continuous flow of power in the motherboard circuit. As a result of this, the heat developed is enormous such that the heat sinks which are meant to cool the hot air can't able to perform their function very effectively. Hence, because of the excess heat inside the console, the electronic components get affected leading to restart of the console. This error is considered as a serious one, because if the console is operated with this defect, then there is possibility that the console can go dead i.e. no further operation can be done from there on.

SOLUTION
There are several methods to solve the three red lights error. One such method is the removal of the X clamps from the mother board that support the heat sinks. These clamps when removed help in cooling motherboard by means of allowing the external air to flow inside the console through the ventilators. Thus, the air flowing inside cools the motherboard from the downward direction and reduces the temperature inside the console to a certain extent. Thus, now it is possible for the three red lights error to be solved by the users by adopting the above mentioned method. Also by following this method the user can save money and time instead of going to a service centre and waiting to get back their console.
