I can show you how to fix your frustrating Xbox 360 either by yourself or what you can do if you can't fix it.  So, fix red ring of death and get on with game playing!

The number of lights flashing on your console is a great indication of what is wrong.  If four lights are flashing it might be a power surge or cable connection problem.  Check the cables and then unplug and re plug your cables back into the outlet to see if it works! 

When three lights are flashing it could mean a hardware issue or a power supply concern.  Check and see what color the light is on the power box.  Orange, red or not on at all indicates some trouble.  So change outlets.  If this doesn't help, you will have to have your power supply box changed.

When two lights flash, it might be that your system is too hot and over-heated.  Let your box cool down.  This might take 2-3 hours.  When you plug it back in, it should work, but if it doesn't you will have to call for service. 

If just one light is flashing, check your cables and then look to see if there is a code coming up on your TV screen.  If there is, then write down the number and call Microsoft with it, they should be able to help!

If you're going to fix red ring of death, give it a try by yourself first and then if you really need to...make the call to Microsoft.  There they will either help you over the phone or send it in for service.  That may take two to six weeks to achieve, but getting your Xbox back in the end will be well worth it!
