How happy are you with the state of your home? Is it tidy enough? Here are five simple steps for making your home look and feel much tidier, so you can enjoy your living space and even invite others to enjoy it with you.
1) Do your washing up as soon as you've finished eating. If you don't fancy doing them now, chances are you'll be even more reluctant to tackle dishes that have dried on bits of food attached to them in the morning. The quicker it's done, the tidier your kitchen and knowing that it's clean will help you relax for the rest of the evening.
2) How often are you dusting and vacuuming your home? If it's less than once a week, then why not step it up and give your home and carpet a new lease of life? It doesn't take long, but will often provide you with the most significant results in making your home look tidy.
3) Have a big sort out once in a while and throw out anything you don't need or want. If it's good enough for a charity, why not donate spare clothes, videos, CDs, ornaments, etc. With the extra space, you can store more of your other possessions away and make more room on shelves for things you want to display.
4) Encourage your children to help. Little ones are always making a mess, whether it's in their room or with the toys they bring downstairs to play with, but by encouraging them to put one thing away before getting out anything else they'll help minimise the clutter and stop you having to do a big tidy once they've gone to bed.
5) Both with children's bedroom and your own, why not pick up some storage boxes? They allow you to conveniently put things away and keep your world organised. It's also handy for when you need to find something, if each storage box is for a different type of item - such as holiday things, photos, bank statements, etc.
If you're going to be vacuuming more often, then you may require more vacuum cleaner bags and also vacuum cleaner accessories.
