Finding Success With Positive Thinking

You know the saying you are what you eat? Well how about you are what you THINK? That is right your mind is a powerful thing. So why not use it to control you destiny? It works - just by programming your brain away from the negative and toward the positive wonderful things can happen in your life.

Everything that happens to us doesn't just happen by chance. We subconsciously determine the outcome of almost every situation. Yes, there are times when things are completely out of our control. But for the most part, our everyday situations and choices are completely up to us whether we realize it or not.

Do you feel like nothing ever goes right in your life? Many people have a negative view of life and their place in it. Because of that it seems that nothing ever seems to go their way. Well, because of your negative way of thinking you are actually subconsciously sabotaging you life. If you believe that nothing good is ever going to occur in your life or you don't deserve happiness, it is likely those things will never happen for you. Just like positive thinking can change your life, so can negative thoughts. It is time to reprogram your brain to think positively and change your life!

If you think negative thoughts about yourself and your situation, it will take some work to change that. Don't expect overnight results, but you will start seeing little bits of light as you start to practice the power of positive thinking. So how do you begin to reprogram your brain? Let's begin!

  • First of all, write a list of your hopes and dreams. Do you want to graduate from college or get a better job? Perhaps you want to get out of debt or become financially secure. Whatever your goals are, write them down and put the list where you will see it every day. By reading through your list daily, you will have your goals on your mind. That way you are constantly seeing ways that you can achieve them.
  • Next, make a list of positive affirmations. Positive affirmations are positive statements about yourself that you read a lot every morning when you wake up and every night before you go to bed. They can be statements such as: I am good at taking tests, I am a good listener, I can succeed in school today, I can make the best of every day, etc. As you read through these affirmations you will start to believe in them, changing your mindset from negative to positive in the process.
  • Find some motivational books or talks on CD and listen to them as you go to work or around the house. Listening to motivational words and stories of how other people rose above their situation can give you hope for the future.
  • Don't just dream - act! Take action whenever you can to improve your life. It may be simple things such as paying your bills on time, or sharing your ideas in a meeting. Whatever you can do to build your confidence and improve your life - do it!

The mind is a powerful tool when it comes to changing your life. You can become what you dream. You just need to convince yourself that you are worth the effort!
