Fibromyalgia Syndrome (What Nobody Knows)

Expert Author Lisa Klein Weber

So, if you've been told you have fibromyalgia syndrome, you probably have heard some of the following:

  • you will have fibromyalgia forever
  • there is nothing that can be done about fibromyalgia
  • you must learn to manage (deal with) your pain
  • nobody knows what causes fibromyalgia
In my experience with fibromyalgia, and with helping others find relief from fibromyalgia, none of these have to be true. In my experience, there is much that can be done about it, and some people will find exactly what has caused if for them and find a way to be healthy, so much so that they don't consider themselves to have fibromyalgia syndrome anymore.

In my experience, fibromyalgia syndrome muscle pain is caused by fascia issues. Your fascia is a covering of your muscles, much like skin covers your body, except fascia covers every muscle, every muscle fiber, every organ, tendon, ligament, nerve, and even your bones.

Fascia is everywhere inside your body and constrictions, kinks, knots, and stress chemicals in the fascia can cause pain. Problems in the fascia in multiple places in your body can cause huge amounts of pain and make you very tired because your body is always trying to fix these problems and never truly rests.

Here's the big kicker about fascia; because of the way fascia in your head is interconnected with fascia in your feet (basically it's all part of the same big sheet of tissue), you can have a kink or knot in one place and feel the pain elsewhere.

So, say you have a kink in your neck but you feel the pain in your arm. You rub the spot where you have pain. Nothing. You go get a massage. Nothing. Your doctor sends you to physical therapy. You still have pain. Your doctor does surgery. It doesn't help. And all the while the kink in your neck is getting bigger and badder and causing more pain - and you don't even know it's there!

That is why fibromyalgia is so hard to treat. Because doctors, for some reason, don't know about referred pain, and they treat the source, and therefore nothing gets better.

This may seem 'out there' or wild, or may make perfect sense to you. Well, this is the basis of my eventual recovery from fibromyalgia.

I tried many different things, and they eventually resulted in me regaining my former health and pain-free state. I share everything I ever tried on my website: http://www.releasefibromyalgia.com/
