Fibroids Uterus - A Devastating Condition

It all began in the early hours of 17th August, 2005 when my wife woke me up with a severe stomach pain. The pain which was accompanied by a menstrual flow should not have occurred at the time since she had just finished her period the previous week.

The stomach pain subsided a few hours later after taken some drug prescribed by a medical doctor in a private hospital nearby but the menstrual flow continued and ran its usual normal course of five days. In the following month, the menstruation came at the normal time of 28 days. But instead of the usual 5-day period, it persisted to 8 days and with normal flow.

Two weeks later, the menstruation appeared again and at that period, I had to rush my wife to the nearest specialist hospital for medical checkup where the doctor in charge told us after carrying out series of examinations that there was slight inflammation which is probably due to bacterial infection on the lower part of the uterus and that we should administer some drugs he prescribed, then we left the hospital.

21 days later, the menstruation appeared again, but this time with heavy flow and it continued without stopping for the next 11 days before it stopped. Since then, the menstruation continued with heavy flow almost every two weeks until it continued with only a few days break in a month. My wife who was then 82 kilograms began to lose weight and the PCV from medical report continued to drop drastically but there was still no sign of fibroids from ultra scan!

We started going from one hospital to the other but only to be told the same stories we have hard once. The menstruation then continued indefinitely without break and to make the matter worst, the flow was heavy!

At this period, we stopped visiting medical hospital and resulted to alternative medicine. With this, the heavy menstrual flow subsided a little and with the assistance of blood giving drugs and plenty fruits, we were able to maintain a certain balance with the PCV which has now dropped to 24% and the weight now at 57 kilograms!

My wife now had become pale and very frail. She could scarcely stand up for more than 10 minutes at a stretch and could not even walk a distance of 50 metres again. At this point, we went back to specialist hospital we first attended and after another round of medical examinations it was discovered through ultra scan that there are multiple fibroids in the uterus! The fibroids ranged in sizes and that the biggest of them all had the size of a medium orange.

We now know the course of all the trouble we have been taking for almost two years which had lead my wife to a critical and devastating condition. At this juncture, we had to seek the face of the lord because at the end of everything, somebody introduced us to what gave us the succor and today, there is no more uterine fibroids again!
