Anyone can sit on a beach and observe the waves crashing onto it and feel the presence of God. People often sit in their own backyards, watching the sun rise and set, knowing without a doubt that God is right there with them and is responsible in some way for the beauty that is surrounding them at that moment in time.
I myself feel this every day, the presence of God, the Creator or some sort of supreme universal force. I feel it when I'm eating good food, walking through the forest, camping with my friends, visiting my relatives, driving my car and I even feel it, right before I go to sleep every night.
What I feel, when I'm looking at something beautiful, that was created by someone is awe inspiring. Sometimes an overwhelming feeling of peace and gratefulness seem to penetrate my body and really make me feel good.
If this is what people are talking about, when they tell me that they feel God's presence, I can understand what they're talking about. This part of God makes a lot of sense to me, but what doesn't make sense, is when people make this statement, like it's a fact instead of a belief.
This wonderful feeling that human beings experience every day is a simple belief that God's presence is around them. There isn't any concrete evidence to prove that this is actually what's happening. No one really knows what causes these wonderful sensations to run throughout our bodies, but when you give God the credit, are you sure that you're giving the credit to the right god.
The next time that you say are make a statement that you're feeling the presence of God, would you at least consider, that it could be realistic confusion. Something that you really believe in, but don't know exactly where the feelings are coming from. If the Hindus are right and the Christians are wrong, could you be feeling the presence of one of their gods, but have mistaken it or one of your own?
