When it comes to the federal stimulus money handed out to banks and other financial lenders, consumer debt relief isn't likely the first thing you think of. After all, wouldn't our government have just given us the money if they were truly focused on combating consumer debt? Well you would think so, but this so called bailout money that went to banks and other lenders has actually improved the debt relief process. For most Americans, it is now a lot easier to get out debt. How so?
It is important to go back and ask yourself "why did the creditors get in so much trouble to begin with?" A lot of it had to do with the fact they weren't willing to negotiate in the past; debt settlements were a relatively rare thing. When the recession came, more Americans were unable to pay their bills, but the credit card companies were still stuck in the "we want everything" stage. What did this leave them with? Not much. Many financial lenders were on the verge of failure because of bad debts.
So where does the stimulus money come into play? The federal government gave this money to financial lenders with the hopes of giving them a second chance. This time around, most have used their second chance wisely. See the stimulus money provided them with a little bit of a cushion. They also realized at this point in time that getting a percentage of their money through debt settlement is a lot better than getting nothing at all when the consumer declares bankruptcy.
Debt settlement is not a new concept, but federal stimulus money did improve its attractiveness. If you believe that you are an ideal candidate for debt settlement, it is time to act now. Use the internet to find the online website of a debt settlement website that monitors and tests debt relief companies to find the best in the business.

Debt settlement companies are so popular right now for a reason. The reason is that almost everyone is in debt and credit card companies are very concerned about collecting. They are being forced to agree to generous debt settlements and you as the consumer should take advantage of this.
