• Initially, you have to be familiar with the place. This will let you feel at ease whenever you are nervous and your voice is stuck up inside your mouth. It helps if you go to the place or meeting area ahead of your schedule so as to have enough time to relax.
• Get to know the kind of crowd that you will be talking to. If you are speaking to young ones, make sure not to use words that are unfamiliar to them. As much as possible make it as interesting as possible. In this way, they will be attentive in listening to you. Once you have learned that your listeners are giving you their full attention, your fear and nervousness will slowly go away.
• Learn to relax. Try to do breathing exercise before you step up to the stage or start your talk. This will help you release your tension through the air.
• As soon as you know that you will have a speaking engagement, try to practice your speech in your room. Or you can try delivering it to your friends or family so that you can get used to it. Exercise the tone of your voice so you it won't sound funny during the actual speech. You will boost your confidence if you are very familiar with what you are talking.
Fear of speaking in public is already a common predicament of several individuals. They get easily intimidated with the fact that a lot of people will look and listen to them.
